Respected guests and dear audience, Greetings to all of you.
Today, I will speak on Beti Bachao, Bedi Padao.
It was cold winter morning of 17th december, when whole
nation woke up and news flashed on TVs about horrific rape and murder of
Nirbhaya. This enraged the whole nation and there were protests all over the
country. The violence against women, Gender discrimination, gender bias has always been the part of human
societies. The women face violence due
to dowry, at work places, in markets and so on.

Topic/Essay for Students: Beti Bachao, Beti Padao; Mufawad |
When Narinder Modi ji came to power in India in May 2014,
One of the first things he did was to address this gender bias and violence
against women.
In January 2015, our prime minister Modi inaugurated the
Beti Bachao, Beti Padao Movement from Haryana, with the aim to improve and give
respected place to girls in society by educating and empowering them.
Our Prime Minister launched the scheme from Haryana because
as per census of 2011, the Haryana had the lowest sex ratio.
Modi government recognized that Women are half of the
country’s population and if our country
has to be strong we must empower the half of population.
It has been seen that in countries where women have lesser
rights are generally very poor and with low GDP.
The objectives of Beti Bachao, Beti Padao scheme are:
1. Improve the condition of daughters in society.
2. Control the female feticide.
3.To remove the inequality prevailing between daughters and
sons in society.
4. Ensuring the safety of all daughters.
5.Promoting daughters’ education.
6. Making girls self-reliant.
7. Improve the standard of living of daughters.
Under Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, we the daughters of nation
have got many benefits, which include
1. We got Awareness
about the education.
2. We got financial help for education and marriage.
3. We Girls are becoming self-sufficient.
Conclusion:
To conclude i would say that a lot has been done by
launching the schemes like Beti Bachao, Beti Padao, A lot more needs to be
done. As we speak, every day 21 women are killed in India due to gender-based violence
as per NCBR data of 2021, 500 plus women face violence.
The need of the hour is change in the thinking and attitude
of male folk towards women.
Thank you.
