Last week, Ministry of Education, GOI launched Vidya Amrit Maha Utsov where teachers can showcase Innovative Pedagogy and introduce new teaching strategies and methods to improve academic outcomes and address real problems to promote equitable learning.
In this regard, I used B.F Skinners Positive Reinforcement to solve Real life Physics Problems in Real time and teach it to the students in their mother tongue.
Objectives of my Class:
- To induce scientific temperament and critical thinking in students,
- To help them solve real life Physics problems in real time,
- To develop problem solving skills in students,
- To connect science to world around and teach it in mother tongue,
- To induce positive reinforcement by giving rewards to the students,
- To develop sense of team work and cooperative learning in students,
- Encourage learning by doing by knowledge construction in students.
Results:
Initially, students were not able to understand simple physics problems in a classroom, So we came out into the ground and started connecting physics to activities they do in ground. The concepts were explained in mother tongue and positive reinforcement was provided to the children who solved those problems. With passage of time, serious improvement was seen in students.
